PADI Open WATER DIVER Course
DIVING COURSE
Beginners
No previous experience is necessary to start the course. There is a course prior to PADI Open Water Diver, Scuba Diver, which is not required to take this course.
Limits
Diver autonomous. You will be able to dive up to 18 meters deep without the need to be accompanied by a guide or instructor.
Exercises
The practices in swimming pool or sea according to the climate of the zone. Departures from boat in Sanxenxo (Portonovo).
Worldwide
Internationally recognized. Your card never expires and is valid all over the world.
Continuing Education
You can access Advance Open Water Diver course and extend your limit to 30 meters deep. NITROX or PADI Enriched Air Diver course is also available.
Choose how to do your course
You can choose between having classes at the dive center or doing the theory online. The practices are the same in both cases, it only changes the way you do the theory. If you decide to do it online, you will come to the center for the practices when you finish the theory.

What do you need for the course?
Enrollment Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Know how to swim.
Once registered
- A recent photograph (can be digital) for the card.
- Specific official medical certificate for hyperbaric activities.
The course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge development
Study through a material kit that includes a DVD and a book (you can also do it on-line). This part consists of 5 modules of theoretical classes in the Diving Center, in which your instructor will resolve your doubts and explain the most important concepts and basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined water dives
Given the exceptional conditions of Portonovo, whenever the sea allows it, this part of the course will take place in a cove with a lot of life so the experience will be much more fun, if not we will do it in a swimming pool. You will do a series of exercises and learn the basic techniques of diving and handling the equipment.
Open water dives
To review your skills and explore! consisting of 4 dives at different dive sites. You will put into practice what you have learned in confined waters and begin to enjoy diving with your instructor. You will increase your depth progressively until you reach the certification objective.

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will learn to use basic dive equipment including a dive computer, and standard accessories. The equipment you carry varies somewhat, depending on whether you are going to dive in a tropical, temperate or cold water site.

Online theory, 5 confined water sessions and 4 open water dives. If you want to do the course with your group of friends, get a special discount. You must bear in mind that due to the quality of the course, we will have one or more instructors depending on the size of the group.
